Matthew's Gospel was originally written to a primarily Jewish audience with the purpose of convincing them that Jesus of Nazareth was in fact the Jewish Messiah they had long been awaiting!  As considered last week in Matthew 1:18-25, he is the Savior and today we recognize in Matthew 2:1-6 that he is the Shepherd Messiah of whom the Old Testament foretold!  Is Jesus your Shepherd?<br />
