Gatherers is a dreary hardcore band who pen atmospheric tunes with heart-wrenching lyrical content. Lead vocalist Rich Weinberger sways back and forth like a withered plant at the stage’s front. He delivers harsh, guttural screams through clenched teeth to heighten the emotion of his somber stage presence. The rhythm section conducts the band’s runaway train-like energy; forceful hits and thumping bass grooves add a dense underbelly to the patient, ethereal guitar work.
