In view of the increasing numbers of scam cases, the first wave of advocacy is centered on raising awareness on the topic of scam among Malaysian society. As continuous advocates against scam cases, it is ALSA Malaysia’s belief that the fight against scams is not a one-off advocacy campaign. Furthermore, it is now made more of a stressing need to further the awareness against the surging cases of scams, exacerbated in these pandemic times. On that note, we here coming out with our first episode of Scam: Spot, Avoid and Report Podcast focusing on the Example of Scam cases frequently happening in Malaysia.

Censorship is not a novel concept in Malaysia at all. Following the recent failure of two highly anticipated blockbusters to pass muster during screenings in Malaysia, the topic of censorship has received a great deal of attention from the public. People started wondering how much power the government actually had to control on this particular issue, questions such as what can and can't be restricted arose, as well as the laws that govern such censorship.

In that effort, ALSA Malaysia will be conducting an episode of a podcast titled ‘Censorships in Malaysia – Does it contradict our freedom of expression?' featuring Dr. Murni Wan Mohd Nor, discussing the problem of our current censorships law.
