Transgenders are individuals who identify as a gender that is different from the one assigned to them at birth. Over the years, their community has had an increase in the Nigerian society. 

Chatting with Nollywood Actress and CEO Ruchiena, we discussed if there are actually transgenders in Nigeria or it’s for the money?

 There is evidence of the law being enforced in recent years, and LGBT people are regularly subjected to discrimination and violence.

Same-sex sexual activity is prohibited under the Criminal Code Act and the Same Sex Marriage (Prohibition) Act 2013 (SSMPA), which between them criminalise acts of ‘carnal knowledge against the order of nature’, ‘gross indecency’, same-sex unions, and LGBT advocacy.
