Sunday’s sermon from the Community Evangelical Free Church in Soap Lake, WA. This Sunday we take a break from the book of Malachi to take some time to reflect on Hebrews 12:1-2. In this text Christians are encouraged to press on in their walk with the Lord and endure. Just like an athlete must persevere in competition, so to believers in Jesus must persevere in this life. Jesus promised us in John 16:33 that hardship will come our way, so how can we be effective in enduring? The answer is that we must look to Jesus, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross in order to redeem and forgive guilty sinners like us! As we live out our Christian lives we must abide in Jesus to find joy, peace, and strength in all the ups and downs we face.
