We start with director Spike Jonze and writer Charlie Kaufman's brilliant "Adaptation" (with a top-tier, dual-role performance from Cage), Paul Schrader's taken-away-in-post-production "Dying of the Light" with a committed Cage but sloppily put together, before rounding out with Gore Verbinski's strange, idiosyncratic (and a strange favorite of Ryan's) "The Weather Man."
