What do you do when worlds collide? Seemingly contradictory worlds - the physical and the spiritual; Torah and 'the outside world'? We need them to be bridged. That is the job of the Kohein. To synthesise. To create peace. Aharon's essence.

It is also the secret of the ladder in Yaakov's dream - bridging Heaven and earth at their meeting point - the Beis HaMikdosh.

So special is this event, that the Malochim themselves come along to take a look. And they get a shock. Because the sleeping form on the ground seems very familiar. 

It turns out that he has an important role to fill. But Yaakov did not realise that he could be that crucial. Without him, the DIvine is complete. So too with us. The sefer Torah is incomplete if one letter is missing - hower small. The Omer is incomplete if one day is missing (though it still counts). The Jewish nation is incomplete if one member is missing.  Contrary to popular belief - you are important. You are worth it.
