Hey there, basketball fans! It's been an absolutely wild week in college hoops as we gear up for March Madness. I've been glued to my TV and phone trying to keep up with all the action.
Let me tell you, the race for those number one seeds is heating up big time. Houston has been on an absolute tear lately, climbing up to grab that coveted top spot in Andy Katz's latest bracket predictions. Those Cougars are looking scary good.
But don't count out powerhouses like Tennessee, Duke, and Auburn just yet. They're all still in the mix for those number one seeds too. It's gonna come down to the wire in these conference tournaments.
Speaking of conference tourneys, how about that ACC action? Duke is sitting pretty as the top seed, but you know teams like UNC and NC State are gunning for that automatic bid. The ACC championship game on Saturday night is must-see TV in my book.
Over in the Big Ten, it's been a dogfight all season long. Purdue and Illinois have been trading blows at the top of the standings. I can't wait to see how it all shakes out in their tournament.
On the individual player front, some guys have just been on another level lately. Eric Dixon from Villanova has been an absolute scoring machine, leading Division I with over 23 points per game. And how about Ryan Nembhard dishing out dimes for Gonzaga? The guy is averaging 10 assists per game! That's just ridiculous.
But the story that's got everyone talking is the incredible season Caitlin Clark is having over on the women's side. She's been rewriting record books left and right. Just last week she broke the NCAA women's scoring record that had stood for over 20 years. Clark and that Iowa team are appointment viewing every time they step on the court.
As we count down the days to Selection Sunday, I'm getting more and more hyped for March Madness. Filling out those brackets, rooting for Cinderella stories, watching buzzer-beaters - there's just nothing like it in sports.
This year's tournament is shaping up to be an absolute classic. We've got blue bloods looking strong, some dangerous mid-majors ready to pull off upsets, and star players capable of putting teams on their backs. I honestly have no idea who's gonna cut down the nets when it's all said and done.
All I know is I'll be camped out on my couch for the next month, living and dying with every possession. Let the madness begin! Who are you all picking to go all the way this year?
