Gemma was catapulted into the public eye when brother, Harry Styles of one direction came into the spotlight. This unexpected fame came with benefits and drawbacks. Having a famous sibling makes it hard to forge your own career in life, but Gemma also appreciates the opportunities it comes with. Gemma now writes articles on her blog Gemmastyles.com regarding subjects like social media, feminism and the flaws of mainstream media. The majority of Gemma's writing is directed at younger girls, often centring the ideas of body positivity, the drawbacks of social media and growing up in todays technology- filled world.Gemma has become a frequent contributor to The Debrief, Fanpop and has been featured in Paper Magazine and on MTV. In this episode Gemma speaks to Asos editor Danielle Radojcin about how she left a secure job to follow her dream, the practical hurdles that come with being a freelance writer and the pressures of having a very famous brother.
