Our generation is very conscious and ready for action. But when it comes to music, which so often helps to shape communities, culture, and generations, the bulk of Gen-Z’s music does not reflect the things we feel so passionately about. Why are the top songs mostly empty? Why, amid a surge of awareness, is the majority of our music not touching problems and leading anyone toward answers or solutions? Is this purposeful?
