Our head of public policy Tim Dieppe went on Premier Christian Radio to explain the implications of the Conservatives' promise to rewrite the Equality Act, so that protections it enshrines on the basis of someone's sex apply only to their biological sex.

"A gender recognition certificate allows you to falsify your birth certificate and say you were born as the opposite sex - this is just legal fiction. People should not be allowed to lie about who they are in law, that's changing history. Biological sex is very clearly defined."
