Ellie, a student, rents the only room she can afford near her university. But the place turns out to have a colony of flies and a slightly pungent smell. She finds the flies' behaviour odd and very distracting. Frustrated by her landlord’s refusal to help, she complains to the city. Too late, Ellie discovers the flies are intelligent and had come to a unique agreement with the previous tenant.
