Generation Lux

Welcome back to the newest round of Generation Lux. This month we are discussing Colleen Hoover's book, Regretting You with anticipation for the movie release at the end of the month!

It felt good to talk into a mic again. This episode I talk about what I've been up to and where I am headed. It is finallllllly the conversation for the It Ends With Us movie, and truthfully I have a lot of thoughts on it. What is even better than this episode is that there will be a second one Sunday where I talk all about August's book club book. 

What better time to read a new book than a long weekend? 

What a ramble! The main takeaway from this episode is even when you think you have it figured out, there's more to unravel. I talk about the tendency to over-do and feel the itch to keep moving even when it is perfectly okay to relax. I get emotional about woman hood (not really, but basically). 

Welcome back to regularly scheduled programming! This week I explore my thoughts on the mother-daughter dynamic as we jump into June's Couch Friends book. The title alludes to something negative but I really find the relationship between mother and daughter, and even women at large, to be unbelievably fascinating and energetic. I think with any relationship, there can be some shadows that come out of being so close and interwoven. 

This is section 1 for June's book club choice, The Idea of You. I'm so excited to have a book in my hands again! 

This episode strays away from the regular format. Combining the 3rd section of the book and my thoughts on the movie, I am so happy to wrap up our second book of Couch Friends. Originally, this episode was supposed to briefly set up the final conversation on The Idea of You. Instead, I dove deep into a transformational experience I've had in therapy where I learned the value of getting to know past parts of me. Wherever you're at in your journey, just know that everything you've done served a purpose at one point in another. But what I want you to take from this is, does it still serve its original purpose? 

I'm speaking from my own lived experience. 

After a brief recap of what's going on in life, the rest of the episode is part 2 of The Idea of You conversation. I can't get enough of the hopeless romance happening within these pages. I know for sure I don't want Hayes, but I do love the idea of romance in different cities around the world. 

I can't seem to put a book down even if I tried! There is nothing more I love than sitting at the beach, reading all day along, with my chair situated right where the waves crash on my feet. In this episode, I talk about two authors who have the best plot twists in predictable genres. I also talk about last month's book + movie, Turtles All The Way Down.
