• Going to get their offspring as persons and groups of people

Read Genesis 10 2-5 - 15:21

• Starting with Japheth (The second youngest)

• Only two of his sons children are listed

• We get people of the coastland

• Distinguished from others by (each with his own) all within the coastlands of Japheth’s line

• Lands - Piece of Ground, Territory, Country

• Language - Tongue

• Clans - Groups of people, conglomerates, held together from without rather than from within (as in not family bonded)

• Nations - Community (some would consider culture)

• Current thought that these groups were north, northwest or northeast of Israel (furthest removed from Israel)

Read Genesis 10 6-20 - 21:37

• A long section (important?)

• Next we have Ham (The Youngest)

• Nimrod is the son of Cush

• A person a first

• A mighty (vigorous, manly) hunter

• A saying comes from this

• His kingdom, Nimrod’s kingdom

• Babel, Erech, Accad and Calneh

• Established in the land of Shinar

• He went to build other cities (after the next chapter)

• Nineveh, Calah, Rehoboth-Ir, Calah and Resen

• Resen called a  Great city

• Canaan called out here (the curse is on Canaan, not Ham, a specific son of Ham)

• Talks to their territory the extension of it

• Could this be as we look forward to curse being carried out by Israel

• The common refrain of clans, languages, lands and nations

• Does not go in order - calls out Eber first the great grandson of Shem

• We get to Eber later and see Peleg (name means divided) and Joktan 

• Goes on to give Joktan’s line and the territory

• Same Reprise (clans, languages, lands, nations)

• The Clans, groups, conglomerates, of Noah

• Their Generations

• Their nations

• From these, these clans, spread over the earth
