This biblical text from Genesis 3 recounts the story of the Fall of humanity. It describes how a serpent tempted the woman, Eve, to disobey God's command not to eat from the Tree of Knowledge of Good and Evil. Subsequently, both Adam and Eve consumed the forbidden fruit, gaining awareness of their nakedness and disobeying God. As a consequence of their disobedience, God enacted punishments upon the serpent, the woman, and the man, and banished them from the Garden of Eden.
