Rivalry, arguing, and hurt feelings. Jacob has problems. He has four wives and is being dragged between the different wives. There are problems all around. Hurt feelings abound. This was not God's design for marriage.

Our theme shows up in two ways. One, God's sovereignty overcomes people's futile attempts to control their lives.

Two, God's grace overcomes people's fallenness.
