Génesis 35: Reencuentro con el Dios de "La Casa de Dios".

Genesis 35:1-7:
1 Entonces Dios dijo a Jacob: —Levántate, sube a Betel y quédate allí. Haz allí un altar a Dios, que se te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.
2 Entonces Jacob dijo a su familia y a todos los que lo acompañaban: —Quiten los dioses extraños que hay entre ustedes. Purifíquense y cambien sus vestidos. 3 Levantémonos y subamos a Betel; allí haré un altar a Dios, que me respondió en el día de mi angustia y ha estado conmigo en el camino que he andado.
4 Así entregaron a Jacob todos los dioses extraños que tenían en su poder, y los aretes de sus orejas, y Jacob los escondió al pie de la encina que había junto a Siquem. 5 Cuando partieron, el terror de Dios se apoderó de los habitantes de las ciudades de sus alrededores, y no persiguieron a los hijos de Jacob.
6 Jacob y toda la gente que lo acompañaba llegaron a Luz, es decir, a Betel, en la tierra de Canaán, 7 y allí edificó un altar. Llamó al lugar El-betel, porque allí se le había revelado Dios cuando huía de su hermano.
Ayer vimos como los hijos de Jacob vengaron el abuso sexual cometido contra su hermana. Jacob estaba aterrorizado, esperando el ataque de los habitantes de la tierra, pero un milagro ocurrió. Aquí vemos cómo el Señor salvó a Jacob y toda su casa de la ira de los habitantes. Dios hizo que todos los habitantes de esa tierra y los vecinos de los alrededores tuvieran un terror inmenso de Jacob y su casa que no se atrevieron a atacar.
Era lógico que Jacob pudiera ser fácilmente atacado y destruido pero Dios lo protegió. Dios lo vio desprotegido y muy asustado ante esta situación de adversidad que volvió a manifestarse otra vez como en el principio. Dios mismo le dijo que regrese al lugar donde tuvieron su primer encuentro, el lugar donde Jacob vio la gloria de Dios manifestada en la mitad del desierto. Ese día cuando Jacob entregó su vida completamente en las manos de Dios, creyendo en sus promesas y haciendo un pacto solemne con el Dios de sus padres, y ahora el de él mismo.
Jacob se levantó inmediatamente hacia Betel, que significa "Casa de Dios". Pero antes de presentar holocaustos al Señor, Jacob sabía que no podía presentarse ante el Todopoderoso de forma impura. Él sabía que sus esposas y sus criados todavía practicaban las tradiciones y costumbres de sus antepasados y de su tierra. Jacob les pide que se despojen de cualquier cosa que le quite la gloria a Dios. Entonces, se despojaron de sus ídolos y hasta se pusieron vestiduras nuevas. Es maravilloso imaginarse ese clamor de Jacob al Señor después de haber levantado un altar de piedra y ofrecer ofrendas al Señor.
Jacob se acercó y pidió protección al Dios que se le había aparecido en el desierto cuando era un joven sin nada en los bolsillos, confundido y desorientado. Él clamó a Aquel que lo había protegido del mal, lo había prosperado y le había dado una hermosa y numerosa familia.
Ahora, ese lugar tenía otro significado más profundo y sublime. Ya no sería Betel (“Casa de Dios"), sino El-betel que significa "El Dios de la Casa de Dios".
Jacob ya había conocido el lugar donde Dios se manifestó, ahora había visto el poder del Dios de la Casa.
Hemos visto muchas veces a Dios en nuestras vidas, en congregaciones, en el templo, en muchas familias. Ahora, sé que el Señor quiere manifestarse en tu vida y la de tu hogar de una forma nueva, más grande y gloriosa.
Porque cuando pensamos que hemos tenido alguna experiencia sobrenatural con Dios, el Señor nos sigue sorprendiendo, haciendo maravillas a nuestro favor, dándonos protección, manifestando su mano sanadora, perdonando nuestras faltas y mostrándonos el camino.
En tiempos de desesperación y angustia, deja que el Señor te guíe, vuelve a ese lugar donde conociste por primera vez al Señor o cuando tuviste un encuentro cercano con Dios… pero no un lugar físico, sino volviendo a tener esa actitud humilde, sensible a la voz de Dios como cuando sentiste su presencia por primera vez. Encuéntrate una vez más con El-betel (El Dios de la Casa de Dios).
Escudriñemos:
Usa la técnica llamada VISUALÍZALO. Visualiza este momento crucial en la vida de Jacob. Mira como ellos fueron sacando los ídolos que tenían escondidos en sus carpas, los que tenían colgados en sus alhajas y otras cosas que no le agradaban a Dios. Responde estas preguntas:
¿Qué debo sacar hoy de mi vida y de mi casa que me quita la atención al Señor? ¿Hay algo en mi vida que no le agrada a Dios? ¿Estoy poniendo algo de prioridad que no sea mi fe en el Señor?
Deshazte de todo lo que estorbe para que el Señor obre maravillas en tu vida y en la de tu hogar.

Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.” So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree which was by Shechem.
And they journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob. So Jacob came to Luz (that is, Bethel), which is in the land of Canaan, he and all the people who were with him. And he built an altar there and called the place El Bethel, because there God appeared to him when he fled from the face of his brother.
Yesterday we saw how Jacob's sons avenged the sexual abuse committed against their sister. Jacob was terrified, waiting for the attack of the inhabitants of the land, but a miracle happened. Here we see how the Lord saved Jacob and his entire house from the wrath of the inhabitants. God made all the inhabitants of that land and the surrounding neighbors extremely terrified of Jacob and his house that they did not dare to attack.
It was logical that Jacob could be easily attacked and destroyed but God protected him. God saw him unprotected and very scared in the face of this adversity that manifested Himself again as in the beginning. God Himself told him to return to the place where they had their first meeting, the place where Jacob saw the glory of God manifested in the middle of the desert. That day when Jacob gave his life completely into the hands of God, believing in His promises and making a solemn covenant with the God of his fathers, and now his own.
Jacob immediately rose to Bethel, which means "House of God." But before presenting burnt offerings to the Lord, Jacob knew that he could not appear before the Almighty in an impure way. He knew that his wives and servants still practiced the traditions and customs of their ancestors and their land. Jacob asks them to strip themselves of anything that takes away God's glory. So, they stripped off their idols and even put on new clothes. Jacob wanted to appear before God pure and clean of pagan traditions that worshiped other gods. At that moment, a spirit of terror fell on the inhabitants and God saved Jacob and all his house from imminent death.
It is wonderful to imagine that cry of Jacob to the Lord after having built a stone altar and offer offerings to the Lord.
Jacob approached and asked for protection from the God who had appeared to him in the desert when he was a young man with nothing in his pockets, confused and disoriented. He cried out to the One who had protected him from evil, made him prosperous and given him a large and beautiful family.
Now, that place had another deeper and more sublime meaning. It would no longer be Bethel ("House of God"), but El Bethel which means "The God of the House of God".
Jacob had already known the place where God manifested Himself, now he had seen the power of the God of the House.
We have seen God many times in our lives, in the congregations, in the temple, in many families. Now, I know that the Lord wants to manifest Himself in your life and that of your home in a new, greater and more glorious way.
Because when we think that we have had some supernatural experience with God, the Lord continues to surprise us, doing wonders for us, giving us protection, manifesting His healing hand, forgiving our mistakes and showing us the way.
In times of despair and anguish, let the Lord guide you, return to that place where you first met the Lord or when you had a close encounter with God… but not a physical place, but returning to having that humble attitude, sensitive to the voice of God as when you felt His presence for the first time. with El-Betel (The God of the House of God).
Let's scrutinize:
Use the technique called VISUALIZE IT. Visualize this pivotal moment in Jacob's life. Look how they were taking out the idols they had hidden in their tents, the ones they had hanging on their jewelry and other things that did not please God. Answer these questions:
What should I take out of my life and my home today that takes my attention away from the Lord? Is there something in my life that does not please God? Am I putting something of priority other than my faith in the Lord?
Get rid of everything that gets in the way so that the Lord works wonders in your life.

God made all the inhabitants of that land and the surrounding neighbors extremely terrified of Jacob and his house that they did not dare to attack.
It was logical that Jacob could be easily attacked and destroyed but God protected him. God saw him unprotected and very scared in the face of this adversity that manifested Himself again as in the beginning. God Himself told him to return to the place where they had their first meeting, the place where Jacob saw the glory of God manifested in the middle of the desert. That day when Jacob gave his life completely into the hands of God, believing in His promises and making a solemn covenant with the God of his fathers, and now his own.
Jacob immediately rose to Bethel, which means "House of God." But before presenting burnt offerings to the Lord, Jacob knew that he could not appear before the Almighty in an impure way. He knew that his wives and servants still practiced the traditions and customs of their ancestors and their land. Jacob asks them to strip themselves of anything that takes away God's glory. So, they stripped off their idols and even put on new clothes. Jacob wanted to appear before God pure and clean of pagan traditions that worshiped other gods. At that moment, a spirit of terror fell on the inhabitants and God saved Jacob and all his house from imminent death.
It is wonderful to imagine that cry of Jacob to the Lord after having built a stone altar and offer offerings to the Lord.
Jacob approached and asked for protection from the God who had appeared to him in the desert when he was a young man with nothing in his pockets, confused and disoriented. He cried out to the One who had protected him from evil, made him prosperous and given him a large and beautiful family.
Now, that place had another deeper and more sublime meaning. It would no longer be Bethel ("House of God"), but El Bethel which means "The God of the House of God".
Jacob had already known the place where God manifested Himself, now he had seen the power of the God of the House.
We have seen God many times in our lives, in the congregations, in the temple, in many families. Now, I know that the Lord wants to manifest Himself in your life and that of your home in a new, greater and more glorious way.
Because when we think that we have had some supernatural experience with God, the Lord continues to surprise us, doing wonders for us, giving us protection, manifesting His healing hand, forgiving our mistakes and showing us the way.
In times of despair and anguish, let the Lord guide you, return to that place where you first met the Lord or when you had a close encounter with God… but not a physical place, but returning to having that humble attitude, sensitive to the voice of God as when you felt His presence for the first time. with El-Betel (The God of the House of God).
Let's scrutinize:
Use the technique called VISUALIZE IT. Visualize this pivotal moment in Jacob's life. Look how they were taking out the idols they had hidden in their tents, the ones they had hanging on their jewelry and other things that did not please God. Answer these questions:
What should I take out of my life and my home today that takes my attention away from the Lord? Is there something in my life that does not please God? Am I putting something of priority other than my faith in the Lord?
Get rid of everything that gets in the way so that the Lord works wonders in your life.

Génesis 35: Reencuentro con el Dios de "La Casa de Dios".

Genesis 35:1-7:
1 Entonces Dios dijo a Jacob: —Levántate, sube a Betel y quédate allí. Haz allí un altar a Dios, que se te apareció cuando huías de tu hermano Esaú.
2 Entonces Jacob dijo a su familia y a todos los que lo acompañaban: —Quiten los dioses extraños que hay entre ustedes. Purifíquense y cambien sus vestidos. 3 Levantémonos y subamos a Betel; allí haré un altar a Dios, que me respondió en el día de mi angustia y ha estado conmigo en el camino que he andado.
4 Así entregaron a Jacob todos los dioses extraños que tenían en su poder, y los aretes de sus orejas, y Jacob los escondió al pie de la encina que había junto a Siquem. 5 Cuando partieron, el terror de Dios se apoderó de los habitantes de las ciudades de sus alrededores, y no persiguieron a los hijos de Jacob.
6 Jacob y toda la gente que lo acompañaba llegaron a Luz, es decir, a Betel, en la tierra de Canaán, 7 y allí edificó un altar. Llamó al lugar El-betel, porque allí se le había revelado Dios cuando huía de su hermano.
Ayer vimos como los hijos de Jacob vengaron el abuso sexual cometido contra su hermana. Jacob estaba aterrorizado, esperando el ataque de los habitantes de la tierra, pero un milagro ocurrió. Aquí vemos cómo el Señor salvó a Jacob y toda su casa de la ira de los habitantes. Dios hizo que todos los habitantes de esa tierra y los vecinos de los alrededores tuvieran un terror inmenso de Jacob y su casa que no se atrevieron a atacar.
Era lógico que Jacob pudiera ser fácilmente atacado y destruido pero Dios lo protegió. Dios lo vio desprotegido y muy asustado ante esta situación de adversidad que volvió a manifestarse otra vez como en el principio. Dios mismo le dijo que regrese al lugar donde tuvieron su primer encuentro, el lugar donde Jacob vio la gloria de Dios manifestada en la mitad del desierto. Ese día cuando Jacob entregó su vida completamente en las manos de Dios, creyendo en sus promesas y haciendo un pacto solemne con el Dios de sus padres, y ahora el de él mismo.
Jacob se levantó inmediatamente hacia Betel, que significa "Casa de Dios". Pero antes de presentar holocaustos al Señor, Jacob sabía que no podía presentarse ante el Todopoderoso de forma impura. Él sabía que sus esposas y sus criados todavía practicaban las tradiciones y costumbres de sus antepasados y de su tierra. Jacob les pide que se despojen de cualquier cosa que le quite la gloria a Dios. Entonces, se despojaron de sus ídolos y hasta se pusieron vestiduras nuevas. Jacob quería presentarse delante de Dios puro y limpio de tradiciones paganas que rendían culto a otros dioses. En ese instante, cayó un espíritu de terror en los habitantes y Dios guardó a Jacob y toda su casa de una muerte inminente.
Es maravilloso imaginarse ese clamor de Jacob al Señor después de haber levantado un altar de piedra y ofrecer ofrendas al Señor.
Jacob se acercó y pidió protección al Dios que se le había aparecido en el desierto cuando era un joven sin nada en los bolsillos, confundido y desorientado. Él clamó a Aquel que lo había protegido del mal, lo había prosperado y le había dado una hermosa y numerosa familia.
Ahora, ese lugar tenía otro significado más profundo y sublime. Ya no sería Betel (“Casa de Dios"), sino El-betel que significa "El Dios de la Casa de Dios".
Jacob ya había conocido el lugar donde Dios se manifestó, ahora había visto el poder del Dios de la Casa.
Hemos visto muchas veces a Dios en nuestras vidas, en congregaciones, en el templo, en muchas familias. Ahora, sé que el Señor quiere manifestarse en tu vida y la de tu hogar de una forma nueva, más grande y gloriosa.
Porque cuando pensamos que hemos tenido alguna experiencia sobrenatural con Dios, el Señor nos sigue sorprendiendo, haciendo maravillas a nuestro favor, dándonos protección, manifestando su mano sanadora, perdonando nuestras faltas y mostrándonos el camino.
En tiempos de desesperación y angustia, deja que el Señor te guíe, vuelve a ese lugar donde conociste por primera vez al Señor o cuando tuviste un encuentro cercano con Dios… pero no un lugar físico, sino volviendo a tener esa actitud humilde, sensible a la voz de Dios como cuando sentiste su presencia por primera vez. Encuéntrate una vez más con El-betel (El Dios de la Casa de Dios).
Escudriñemos:
Usa la técnica llamada VISUALÍZALO. Visualiza este momento crucial en la vida de Jacob. Mira como ellos fueron sacando los ídolos que tenían escondidos en sus carpas, los que tenían colgados en sus alhajas y otras cosas que no le agradaban a Dios. Responde estas preguntas:
¿Qué debo sacar hoy de mi vida y de mi casa que me quita la atención al Señor? ¿Hay algo en mi vida que no le agrada a Dios? ¿Estoy poniendo algo de prioridad que no sea mi fe en el Señor?
Deshazte de todo lo que estorbe para que el Señor obre maravillas en tu vida y en la de tu hogar.

Then God said to Jacob, “Arise, go up to Bethel and dwell there; and make an altar there to God, who appeared to you when you fled from the face of Esau your brother.”
And Jacob said to his household and to all who were with him, “Put away the foreign gods that are among you, purify yourselves, and change your garments. Then let us arise and go up to Bethel; and I will make an altar there to God, who answered me in the day of my distress and has been with me in the way which I have gone.” So they gave Jacob all the foreign gods which were in their hands, and the earrings which were in their ears; and Jacob hid them under the terebinth tree which was by Shechem.
And they journeyed, and the terror of God was upon the cities that were all around them, and they did not pursue the sons of Jacob.
