* Sexual temptation grabbed a lot of men in the Bible, but not Joseph.
* How was he able to withstand it?
* 1) He had a servant’s heart - (vs 8) anything that stood in the way of being profitable for his master was out of the question. He saw all Potiphar’s stuff as Potiphar’s, not his.
* 2) He knew who he was - (vs 9A) he essentially said, “Do you know who I am?” Much like Nehemiah said when he was tempted.
* 3) He recognized what was at stake - (vs 9B) Many men fail to weigh the risks associated with giving in to the temptation.
* 4) He knew he would sin against God - (vs 9C) This is the most important aspect. Joseph knew it would negatively affect his relationship with the Lord.
* Pay close attention to why you say no to temptation - is it because you fear getting caught (like Jacob) or you fear God (like Joseph)?
