Exalting and Admiring God

Genesis 4-7: The Battle of the Seeds

Listen Later

Today's reading shows the implications that followed the sin of mankind. We see the beginnings of the eternal war between the seed of the woman and the seed of the serpent. Ultimately, we see the conclusion of the war found in Christ, who fulfilled the prophecy of the woman's seed crushing the serpents. We see how the usage of the Hebrew word toledot is used in Genesis to symbolize a shift in the narrative. We see God's anger poured out against those who hate him and destroy all the good he has created. Finally, we see God make a covenant with Noah to further his plan of redemption--the seed of the woman. The implications that arise out of God's choosing of sinners to further his plan for salvation include us being saved and includes God's usage of those whom he saves to be the ministers of reconciliation, those whom carry out Christ into the world.

So let us carry out Christ into the world as we live our lives and as we have been graciously been saved, let us proclaim the goodness of the Almighty. To him be the glory! Amen!
