Genesis Chapter 10: The Nations of the Earth

Listen Later

Welcome back to Through the Bible. Today, we read Genesis chapter 10.

This chapter is often called the Table of Nations. It records the descendants of Noah’s sons—Shem, Ham, and Japheth—and shows how the earth was repopulated after the flood.

Genesis chapter 10 gives us a broad view of how nations and people groups began to spread across the earth. Each name represents the beginning of a lineage, a culture, and a future nation.

As you listen, notice the structure. This chapter connects families to lands and languages, preparing us for what comes next.

You will also hear about Nimrod, a mighty figure associated with the early development of cities and kingdoms.

Though it may sound like a list, this chapter is foundational. It helps us understand where nations come from and how humanity expanded after the flood.

Take a moment to reflect. Genesis chapter 10 reminds us that all people share a common origin, yet each nation unfolds according to God’s plan.

Now, let us begin.
