Genesis 24 is a long chapter, but the message is easy to understand. It is a story about prayer, trust, and letting God lead the way. The chapter starts with Abraham, now very old, wanting to find a wife for his son Isaac. He doesn’t want Isaac to marry from the land they live in, so he sends his most trusted helper on a trip to find someone from his own people. This shows how important faith and values were to Abraham.

When the helper reaches a town, he stops at a well. Before choosing anyone, he prays. He asks God for a clear and simple sign:
If a woman offers him water and also offers water to his camels, she will be the one.
This prayer shows that he didn’t want to pick by looks or feelings — he wanted God to lead him.

Before the helper even finishes praying, a young woman comes out for water. She gives him water and waters his camels, doing exactly what he prayed for. Her kindness is the sign he asked God for.

The helper is amazed. He knows this is God leading him.
