Genesis Chapter 3: The Fall of Man

Listen Later

Welcome back to Through the Bible, where we continue reading God’s Word in the King James Version, one chapter at a time. Today, we come to Genesis chapter 3.

Up to this point, everything has been good. Creation was complete. The Garden was perfect. Man and woman lived in harmony with God and with each other. But in this chapter, everything changes.

Genesis chapter 3 introduces us to the moment that shaped all of human history—the fall of man. Here, we encounter the serpent, the voice of deception, and the subtle questioning of God’s word. What begins as a conversation quickly becomes a choice, and that choice leads to consequences that reach far beyond the garden.

As you listen, pay attention to how temptation unfolds. Notice how doubt is planted, how truth is twisted, and how quickly disobedience follows. This chapter is not just about Adam and Eve—it reflects the same struggles we face today.

You will also hear the immediate results of sin: shame, fear, and separation. The relationship between God and man is broken, and the world is no longer the same. Yet even in this moment, there is a glimpse of hope—a promise that points forward to redemption.

Take a moment to reflect before we begin. Genesis chapter 3 is a turning point, a chapter that helps us understand both the problem of sin and the beginning of God’s plan to restore what was lost.

Now, let us read.
