Genesis Part 52: When Sin Becomes Normal
Text: Genesis 19:1–11
In this message from Genesis 19:1–11, we examine the tragic account of Sodom and discover how sin progresses when people suppress God's truth and reject His authority.
Big Idea: When people suppress the truth and reject God, sin does not remain private or contained—it spreads, hardens, and eventually reshapes an entire culture.
In this sermon, we explore the gradual nature of compromise, the collective corruption that can overtake a society, and the spiritual blindness that sin produces. We also consider how believers should respond by taking sin seriously, guarding against worldly influences, grieving over sin without self-righteousness, and praying for those who are spiritually blind.
Gospel Hope
The light still shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it. Jesus Christ came not to affirm sin, but to rescue sinners. No matter how deep the darkness, there is mercy, forgiveness, and salvation in Him for all who repent and believe.
