Sometimes we need a reset, a return to an easy peaceful practice. Life can be difficult, even as we wish for and strive for comfort and safety. We are influenced by so many things we cannot control. In recent days and months, I have been on a journey of changes in my own life. Many have been very difficult, unexpected. Asking from me a kind of fluidity and adaptability that I sometimes didn’t know I could enfold. And yet, since I have many years of spiritual practice with breath and meditation, reading and study, I have been able to move through this painful time and come out on the other side with new understandings, new relationships and a fresh appreciation for the gift that is a spiritual practice.
This week we return to a balanced breath practice where we learn to gentle the in-breath with a visualization technique of bringing the breath in from between the legs. We balance that with a strong out-breath, using a short quick puff at the end of the exhale. From there we unite body, mind and emotions, lifting up into a spiritual domain of light, harmony and beauty. Joy abounds.
