In this message from David, we dive into the book of the covenant, God's civil laws to the nation of Israel. In these laws, we behold the character and wisdom of the God who is holy, righteous, and good. The law of God was not written in a vacuum. They come to humanity and speak to us as we are. They are a reflection of God’s heart, and in it true righteousness and justice are revealed. We have to understand that we are reading laws to ancient Israel through our cultural lenses, but we must believe that God’s revelation in these laws is sufficient to teach us about justice and just laws for society.
