Often religion is thought of as dry, quiet and personal. However the religion that James talks about is active and requires the believer to take action. “Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for the orphans and widows in their troubles, and refuse to let the world corrupt us.” (James 1:27)
