Welcome to GenX Classic Sports, the podcast where we revisit the unforgettable athletes, teams, and moments that shaped our sports memories growing up. 

Remember when NFL training camp meant college dorms, two-a-days, full pads, brutal heat, endless conditioning, and coaches who seemed personally offended by the existence of water breaks? Before GPS trackers, sports science, individualized nutrition and carefully managed practice schedules, NFL players spent weeks living together on college campuses, fighting for roster spots and beating the hell out of each other to get ready for the season. 

On this episode of GenX Classic Sports, we go back to the roots of training camp, then dive into the 1960s, 70s and 80s—the era of Vince Lombardi, George Allen, Tom Landry, Chuck Noll, Mike Ditka and the legendary camps that helped shape some of football's greatest teams.
