In this episode I discuss the evolution of Geography as a study, with a timeline of where it all started and what it is now. I also talk about cartography, which is the science of mapping, and what lessons we've learnt (and are yet to learn) by comparing the earth to food, and allowing rich people to own boats. We'll also get into some issues surrounding colonialism and imperialism that are more significant than you might have thought.
The next time you get in a flags war on Twitter, it probably won't be as fun (sorry π) but you'll be a tad bit more enlightened (not sorry). Correction: I made an error with my size comparison. When I said a bottle cap to a piece of paper. *facepalm* Instead, I meant to say a quarter (25 cent) compared to an iPhone 7. ββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
