In tonightâs episode of the Geocaching Podcast:
Sarah wants to discuss what different tools of the trade we all use when geocaching. Thought that would be a wonderful subject to go over.
Be sure to check it out! Please share with other geocachers.
We meet on Wednesday nights at 9:30PM ET at http://www.geocachingpodcast.com/live so you can see us record the show live and join in the chat room. See you there!

GCPC EPISODE 525 Show Notes
GCPC EPISODE 525 â Geocaching Tools of the Trade â Past and Present
Some of our extensive list:
High power flashlight. The cheap low power onesâ just donât cut it.
Extra socks
Diapers â if caching with a toddler/infant (http://geocachingpodcast.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png)
Pens â lots of em. A sharpie also helps for those hard to sign logs. â possibly also a pencil (A write Fisher Space Pen â writes in the rain)
A towel. Always know where your towel is to be a real hoopy frood.ďťż
Carabiner⌠handy for tying up the geo-dog when you are in an area where she has to be on the leash, but you need to drop the leash to do a hunt. 
Great to put one on the belt, to clip the GPSr to instead of using a belt loop which can break.
Bug spray designed for tick repulsion! very important :)ďťż Pick one for your area.
Some sort of snack â jerky or granola bars â never know when you get hungry on the trails, and that stuff keeps for a while so I can store it longer term without issue.ďťż
First Aid Kit â you hope you never need it, but just in caseâŚ
A good (paper) map of the area â for longer trips.
Rope⌠bring rope, always helps
Gloves
Hiking stick has been employed as a long distance pokey device.
Pliers on my leatherman has been used many many (many!) times as tweezers or just a fing-longer.
A boat a couple times (http://geocachingpodcast.com/wp-includes/images/smilies/simple-smile.png)
Water. For those pesky âfill this tube with waterâ caches.ďťż
Log Roller â for those nasty nano logs. INfo â Iâve used a needle on occasion, or a safety pin to roll the log around
A fork or ice pick â is useful when a cache is in a recess as there is NO WAY I am going to stick my hand in a hole here in TEXAS.ďťż â You need to cowboy up and just stick your hand in thereâŚ
Letherman â A multitool chock full of handy options that fit quite nicely in any geocachers pocket or pouch. www.leatherman.com/
Tweezers â http://www.rei.com/product/407072
