I was privileged to talk to the Chair of the Geographical Association International Special Interest Group (GAISIG), Catherine, about her lesson on the Single Story. The lesson includes correcting common misunderstandings about those in LICs and HICs, using a very powerful Ted Talk (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=D9Ihs241zeg) and student research to facilitate the learning. Catherine details strategies used to scaffold for lower ability students and a thorough peer assessment technique, giving her the opportunity to spend more time with individual students.
