In 2001, I hosted a thirty-minute interview show as part of Wired.com's strategy to expand into multimedia. Along with my producer Jeremey Barna, we were given free reign to experiment. Most of what we did was not great, but this interview show proved to be popular. In mid-February, I had the chance to sit down with comedian George Carlin. That show—and that interview—was the genesis of The Downtown Writers Jam Podcast.
