Bill Page is chatting with George Moon, who stumbled upon Erie's woolly mammoth in 1991 while SCUBA diving in Lake Pleasant. Last Week Tonight with John Oliver got curious about Moon's find from old newspaper clippings and wanted to know more about the discovery, which has now become a social media sensation with the temporary rebranding of our Double-A baseball team (and two-time defending champion) Erie SeaWolves. The new Moon Mammoths, named after our guest, George Moon (and his find), made their debut on July 19th, 2025 in a special celebration at UPMC Park.
