Dr. Joshua Hare

Dr. Joshua Michael Hare is a distinguished leader in cardiovascular medicine and regenerative therapy. He is the founding director of the Interdisciplinary Stem Cell Institute at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, where he also serves as chief of the Division of Cardiology and holds professorships in medicine and molecular and cellular pharmacology. Dr. Hare earned his medical degree from Johns Hopkins University and completed his residency and fellowships at Johns Hopkins, Harvard University, and Brigham and Women’s Hospital. Prior to joining the University of Miami, he was a professor at Johns Hopkins and directed its heart failure and cardiac transplant programs. Internationally recognized as a pioneer in stem cell therapy for heart disease, Dr. Hare led the first human clinical trial exploring stem cell-based treatments for heart attack patients.
