George Romero's film career was on life support in the mid seventies due to a series of flops which were not even admired by critics.

But after teaming up with Richard Rubenstein and hiring a young Tom Savini to handle the special effects work, he got the boost that would enable him to make "Dawn of the Dead".

While not really a horror movie, "Martin" is a very small and bleak story about a young man who believes he is a vampire. His crazy uncle also believes this as well and is ready to destroy him if he gets out of line.
