Georges Cuvier loved studying animals and quickly became the leading authority in the science of different species and even proposed an idea that the world hadn't thought of... extinction.

In the 1700's people didn't realize that animals could and had been going extinct. The common thought was that any bones or fossils found, must belong to an animal that still lives today... that is until Georges' discoveries would change everything, leading to many other science debates and discoveries!
