In this episode, we’ll examine the role of the Reichstag, Germany’s parliament, and its influence on legislation and military funding. We’ll explore how the Reichstag evolved, fostering political parties that pressured the government while still being subject to the Kaiser’s authority. Despite his ability to dissolve the Reichstag, he could not prevent its re-election. Lastly, we’ll discuss the existence of regional parliaments, known as Landtags, with a particular focus on the dominant power of the Prussian Landtag.
