Regular callers Wynona Wimberly and Margaret Pleckspeckle are against pinwheels in general, and Mrs. W wants an ordinance passed prohibiting them as well as snowballs and bad accordion music on public thoroughfares. Mrs. P defends a previously elaborate, and unfortunate, hairdo. Gertrude tries again to plug her personalized “Wanted: Headed for Parts Unknown” cowgirl mugs. The show host reluctantly reveals Gertrude — and her business partner, the mysterious inventor Mr. Drakenstein — have received a large amount of mail. Mr. D says he’s coming to the station immediately, and he’s bringing a duck.
