BLESSED ASSURANCE
Blessed assurance, Jesus is mine
Oh, what a foretaste of glory divine
Heir of salvation, purchase of God
Born of His Spirit, washed in His blood
Perfect submission, all is at rest
I in my Savior, am happy and blessed
Watching and waiting, looking above
Filled with His goodness, lost in His love,
What a wonderful song and truth we have in the assurance of the salvation that comes through Jesus Christ! For many of us who have sung that song numerous times, it brings such warm memories and comfort.
But through the years and through the many changes that are taking place within our culture and churches many have settled into that blessed assurance and have become complacent and apathetic in their daily walk with Jesus. We feel it is time for the next generation to take the torch and move into the world we live in with the gospel.
So, why are we still here? Why has God brought us through so many things and circumstances just to have us sit upon our blessed assurance? To be with Christ would be much better but we are told to live on in the flesh is more necessary for those around us.
Join with me as we look to the gospel for His continued call to live our lives good to the last drop!
