Get Outside and Touch Grass — You are an Explorer

Listen Later

Since the dawn of time, men have been drawn to the wilderness. Mountains, forests, oceans, and open sky call something out of us that cubicles, screens, and city streets rarely touch. We were made to explore.

From Scripture to church history, you see it again and again: God meets people in the wilderness. Prophets, shepherds, kings, and even Jesus Himself step away from the crowds and into creation to be tested, refined, and refreshed. The pull you feel toward the outdoors isn’t random; it’s part of how you were designed.

In this episode of Tribe Talk, Mike and Jim unpack what it means to live out man’s calling to be an explorer as a way of connecting with the Creator. This isn’t about chasing adrenaline or collecting Instagram photos. It’s about allowing the wild places God made to shape your heart, your perspective, and your relationship with Him.

They discuss:

- Why men through history have been drawn to the wilderness

- How time outside helps strip away distraction and expose what’s really going on in your soul

- Practical ways to use hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, or simple walks as intentional time with God

- How adventure with brothers in Christ can forge deep bonds, accountability, and courage

If you’ve felt restless, boxed in, or disconnected from God, it might be time to “touch grass” in a deeper way. You were not made to live your whole life indoors, numbed by constant noise. You were made to explore the world God created and, in the process, know Him more.

Listen in as Mike and Jim invite you to recover your identity as an explorer and let the wilderness do its work in your walk with Christ.
