Extremadura, a rural region in Spain, is offering financial grants of up to €15,000 to digital nomads who relocate to the area. The program is intended to boost the regional economy and population, which has struggled with high unemployment and a low GDP. The grants are available to highly qualified professionals in the tech industry who can work remotely and commit to living in Extremadura for at least two years. Priority is given to women, young people under 30, and those relocating to smaller towns. Applications are expected to open in mid-September and will be accepted until the funding for 200 digital nomads has been allocated.
