Susan Snyder, owner of The Pottery House Studio, found ceramics in her junior year at Indiana University. She briefly traveled abroad to Italy to study ceramics, but she eventually landed back in Bloomington. For a while, she sold her art to galleries and private collectors, but after trading 40 of her handmade plates for a kiln, she decided to open a ceramics studio in her garage. After that became too cramped, she moved her studio out and bought space on Pete Ellis Drive for her new studio. Now, Snyder is molding more than just clay. Her studio is fostering connection, creativity, and a sense of belonging through the art of ceramics.
