Simply put, getting direct experience by yourself is a great quick route to progression.

Here is a chopped version of a chat I had with Paisley (Thanks for the chat Paisley!) about her situation and how she would like to get into the music industry, specifically into live music. 

Find a way to feel comfortable approaching your ideal role head on with your own experience and contacts and be happy to make them yourself. Don't feel you need the support of an agency/label, despite being popular choices, as these methods can be slow & distracting. If you are happy going in the direction, make the next step and let the rest flow.
