We need to always distinguish between biblical fact and church tradition. Unfortunately, tradition has greater sway than biblical fact. Concerning Christ's birth, how many wise men were there? Did they come to a manger? Were there shepherds there at the same time? What kind of ruler was King Herod? Just what did these wise men actually know about the birth of the King of the Jews? And why did they want to worship Him?
