Getting laid off is actually a nightmare. And we've both been through it! Separate times, separate companies, separate financial circumstances—but ultimately a shared experience we can reflect on now that we've seen the other side. Today we each share our stories, talk through the strategies we made to survive unemployment in New York City, discuss the helpful advice we received, and consider what we'd maybe do differently looking back.
Layoffs suck. We'd love to snap our fingers and erase the concept forever. But we also recognize how isolating and defeating a layoff is and want to provide a space for that conversation to take place.
If you're currently experiencing a layoff, furlough, or job shift that is out of your control—we're sending you all our love!
