Proverbs 1:8-19  – Getting on the Right Path

1. Read verses 8-10.  What warning does the father give the son?  Does the father think his son will go through life without ever being tempted?

2. What motivates this group of sinners in verses 11?

3.  It’s important to remember that Proverbs is poetry and Solomon is using poetic language to describe a deeper truth.  What are some modern examples of how people take advantage of others to get ahead?

4. According to verse 19, what happens to those who stay on the path of greed?  How can we reconcile this when many people on the greedy path seem to prosper?
