Getting Political: My Journey as an Advocate for Change for My Girls

Listen Later

As a young suburban mom, I was previously apathetic about politics until the riots that hit close to home woke me up to the reality that I needed to fight for a safe future for my family. I started paying attention to current events and reached out to a family connection to get involved. I then became a volunteer for a political campaign and eventually ran for MNGOP Secretary, with my family at my side. Along the way, I learned five tips to help balance my political advocacy: educate yourself, get organized, join or start a local advocacy group, pick your hills, and find like-minded people. These tips have allowed me to focus my passion and make a meaningful impact in my community, and I am excited to share them so you can too.
