Minimization is another huge enemy of true forgiveness and grace. But we do it because we can't face the pain of owning our sin—whether it's against God or others. Fear of strong emotions also drive us to minimization. Who wants to admit they're depressed or an angry person? But God can take all of this and fold it into His work on the cross.
