As high functioning women, sometimes we expect too much from ourselves. The worst tendency we have is to expect ourselves to ‘keep it together’ and ‘do it alone.’ 

Although we don’t intend to isolate or put so much pressure on ourselves, it is something we do unknowingly when we’re caught up in fear of other people’s perceptions or potentially failing ourselves (and our unrealistic expectations). 

I hadn’t been 100% transparent with the people around me… and as a result I couldn’t receive the support available to me!
