I recently had a friend ask me why a particular verse was located in the scriptures of the Bible when it seemed so out of place with the verses around it. After answering her I thought I would tackle that particular question right here in this episode. The verse in question comes from Luke 16:18 (NKJV) which says, “Whoever divorces his wife and marries another commits adultery; and whoever marries her who is divorced from her husband commits adultery.” This is Jesus talking, and this verse seems out of place because marriage is not the topic of discussion in this chapter.
So today we will tackle WHY this verse is located where it is, and while we are at it, also discuss this particular verse’s meaning.
Older Episodes that may help bring clarity:
Season 1, Episode 12 on Biblical Placement
Season 2, Episode 15 about Wives submit to your husbands and what that means
Check out my new workbook on Amazon; The Mission of Marriage by Natalie Sherwood.
**All scripture in this episode is from the New King James Version (NKJV) of the Bible.
