얼마 뒤에, 그녀는 그것을 너무 높이 던져서,

After a time she threw it up so high

that she missed catching it as it fell;

and the ball bounded away,

The princess looked into the spring after her ball,

but it was very deep,

so deep that she could not see the bottom of it.

그러자 그녀는 자신이 잃은 것을 깨달았습니다,

Then she began to bewail her loss,

그리고 말하였습니다.

and said,

'아아! 만약 내가 다시 내 공을 가질 수만 있다면,

'Alas! if I could only get my ball again,

나는 내 모든 좋은 옷과 보석을 주겠어요.

I would give all my fine clothes and jewels,

이 세상에 있는 모든 것을 주겠어요.’

and everything that I have in the world.'

그녀가 말하는 동안,

Whilst she was speaking,

개구리 한 마리가 물 밖으로 머리를 내밀고, 말했어요.

a frog put its head out of the water, and said,

'공주님, 왜 그렇게 심히 우는거예요’

'Princess, why do you weep so bitterly'
